IPHONE 2019 FILMMAKING

IPHONE 2019 FILMMAKING
Years ago when I started this blog I did so in the hopes that I would be right about the future of filmmaking using smartphones.

Since then the technology has made quantum leaps and now we are at a stage where footage shot on the latest models of the iPhone can produce a video that rivals that of the cameras used by major motion picture filmmakers. If you want to be a filmmaker nothing stands in your way now except you imagination and willingness to work hard. Years ago a young filmmaker had to spend thousands of dollars on basic camera equipment. Thousands more on film to load into the camera. Thousands more on sound recording equipment. Thousands more on a massive and complex editing system to cut their footage together into its completed form. Now you can do all of this inside of your phone. Note: the editing and sound mixing I would do on a computer.

Today we are going to look at a few films shot on the iPhone and some behind the scenes footage.

Let's get started with some advice on shooting footage.

Now we will compare the iPhone X to one of the most impressive video cameras used in Hollywood.

Now we will take a look at an in-depth tutorial on the most popular iPhone film making app, Filmic Pro.

Next an interesting little iPhone 7 short film.

Lastly, we will look at the trailer for a feature film shot using the iPhone. You will not be able to shoot the next Avengers film using your iPhone, but you could probably shoot something similar to Mr. Glass or Split with your phone. Think about it. A horror film is an easy job with an iPhone, but how about a superhero movie? I cannot wait for one of your guys to try.

Thank you for visiting my blog and have a great day. If you would like a great book on screenwriting, every great film begins with the script, I would recommend the audio version on my book on writing a low budget screenplay.
