THE IPHONE FEATURE PODCAST About a year ago Tangerine, a feature shoot entirely using an iphone, hit theaters. During the next few years dozens of films will follow in its footsteps. With each iphone the cameras and the apps that go with them improves. At this moment you could shoot a feature length film that is equal in visual quality to the first generation of digital feature films. Today we are going to take a quick look at the this iphone feature along with a podcast interview and live interview with the film maker. If you have shoot a short or feature film using a smartphone I would love to hear from you and perhaps do an interview or at least feature your project in a future post. When I started this blog over three years ago many suggested that the iphone would be a passing fad where film makers were concerned, but since then it has become an important part of the micro budget film makers tool kit and in third world countries it is has become the primary tool.

  The day of the iphone film and the iphone filmmaker has arrived. Thanks to the quality of the footage that the camera can record and the lower and lower price of the iphone 4s most beginning film makers can get a world class footage recording device for under one hundred dollars. I know that many of you already have an iphone in your pocket and are only now considering using this device to record your first film.

 The film maker mentions sound recording and I would like you to remember that you can use a second iphone to record sound. there are some excellent apps and mics that can be attached to the iphone. This is a new age for film making and the sky is truly the limit where this device is concerned.
